How to Do a Print Screen on a Mac Running Windows
Comments
If you are running Windows on a Mac, you might be wondering how to do a screen capture via shortcut key. In Mac OS X, you can do a screen capture by pressing Apple key ⌘ (command) + Shift + 4. In Windows running on PC, you can do this by pressing the PRINTSCREEN key. But the problem is Mac doesn’t have this key.
I am using a MacBook running Windows 7 on it using Boot Camp 3.0. This is how I do a screen capture using a combination of keys. The captured screen will be automatically copied to the clipboard.

Note: Tested on Boot Camp 2.0 and above.
Windows Print Screen Shortcut on a Mac
If you enabled your Fn key to control Mac special hardware features (Brightness, volume, etc):
- Fn + Shift + F11 (Full screen)
- Fn + Alt + Shift + F11 (Active window)
If you disable your Fn key (e.g. Pressing F10 will directly mute the volume):
- Shift + F11 (Full screen)
- Alt + Shift + F11 (Active window)
Alternatively, you can use Snipping Tool that bundles together with Vista and Windows 7 to get the job done.
